For over 40 years, producers of Brunello di Montalcino: passion and tradition in one of the world's most important wine regions. The main denominations are Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and Rosso di Montalcino DOC.
Founded in 1970 by a small group of local producers and acquired by Prosit Group in 2022, Cantina di Montalcino now collaborates with about 50 winemakers who jointly represent 160 hectares of vineyards, distributed over the four quadrants of the Municipality of Montalcino, 40 km from the city of Siena.
The production area coincides with the historical border of the Municipality, an area of 24,000 hectares – in which the vineyards occupy about 15% – that is supremely well-suited to the cultivation of Sangiovese, an ancient vine that yields the famous Brunello di Montalcino, a red wine of the finest quality.
The original structure of the winery was demolished and rebuilt, starting in 2000. The current architectural design, inaugurated in 2011, is reminiscent of Tuscany’s softly rolling hills. In the underground winery there are 74 oak barrels, each with a 5000-litre capacity, plus 50 barriques.
The winery is part of the Toscana Wine Architecture circuit, which brings together the region’s 14 signature and ‘design’ wineries.
